Is it possible to compare the String values of same customfield for different issues on same project

I wanted to compare the String values of same custom field values for different issues in a same project and should throw error if second issue's custom field value is matching the first or any other issues.

You cann't compare fields via JQL, it's possible via script (SIL, groovy)
