Is it possible to pre-select just one metadata field value in a CF-page template?

In a space, there are three metadata fields, combined into one metadata sets. Now, I want to to provide three different page templates. 

Template A: metadata field1=A

Template B: metadata field1=B

Template C: metadat field1=C

The other two metadata fields will have to be filled in by the users.

Unfortunately we did not see your question earlier.

It is possible to define a default value for a field in a metadata set. You can also define the default value for only one of the three fields or for all of them. And to force the users to fill out the other fields you can define a field as required.

The metadata set can then be used for a template.

But when you use the same metadata set in three different templates, the default value will be the same in all three templates. If you need different default values you would need three different metadata sets.
