Hello Team,
We have multiple projects where Structure has been enabled. We have created Structures for different project with definite permissions. However, we don't see any option to configure Structure for specific project.
We are running "Export Links Synchronizer" for one of the Strcucture. How does this affect the issues in other projects, which we have enabled Strcucture. We want this to be affected only to certain projects not other projects enabled Strcuture.
Seems, this affect other projects as well in below link:
"No matter how synchronizers are configured, they will only affect issues from the projects that are enabled for synchronization."
https://wiki.almworks.com/display/structure/Links+Synchronizer
Looking forward for your response.
Thanks,
GSEP Support
Hello Kartik,
In case of the Export, Source of truth should be Structure.
If other projects will be affected depends on the settings in the Scope section. If the ‘Synchronize issues that are already in the structure’ option is selected, links will be created only between issues that are in the structure, when one issue is placed under the other. Additional ‘Expand to sub-issues/parent issues’ options will extend the Synchronizer’s coverage to all issues, linked to those that are in the structure even if linked issues are not in the structure themselves. If the ’Synchronize all issues’ option is selected, all issues that has links of the specific type in Jira will be affected and links of issues, that are not present in the structure, will be erased.
So if you want to create parent-child relationships just between issues that you have in the structure, use the ‘Synchronize issues that are already in the structure’ option without expanding to parent or sub-issues.
I hope this helps!
Best regards,
Stepan Kholodov

Hello Kartik,
Thank you for your question.
The Export from Structure creates link relationships in Jira, represented in the structure. Depending on the configured scope, it can affect issues only present in the structure or beyond that. If the ‘Synchronize all issues that have links of selected type’ option is selected in the settings, the export may result in the links of the selected type being deleted in Jira. So this option should be used with caution and only when this scope of the action is required.
Setting the limits of the synchronization by specifying the project in the ‘Issue Filters’ section always is a good idea. And since changes that are made in Jira by the Synchronizers can only take place if the Synchronizer’s owner has the permission for it, not giving access to certain projects in Jira to users can also help to avoid unwanted changes.
Please feel free to contact us at our Service Desk in case you have more questions or need help with setting up the Synchronizers: https://support.almworks.com We will be glad to assist you!
Best regards,

Hello Stepan,
Thank you for your quick response.
We have manually added issues from different projects in created Structure to create a parent and child relationship.
Ex issue type = Tasks as parent & issue type = Epic Child
We are running Export issue link one time synchronizers.
- Source of truth: Jira
- Link Type: Resolves
- Link Direction: sub-issue resolves parent issue
- No Issue filters Selected
Running the report will establish the issue links with selected link type.
Could you please confirm, if above steps will affect other Jira project issues or Structure enabled projects.
Thanks,
Karthik
