We use one instance of JIRA for external users (customers) to log issues for Support and another instance of JIRA internally to manage software development using Greenhopper. This is due to licensing requirements for Greenhopper and Tempo. Is there a way to log time against issues in a remote JIRA instance in Tempo, similiar to how JIRA now allows you to link to remote issues?

Hi Paul,
this is something that can not be solved at the moment due to restrictions in JIRA. Still, it might be a feature to be implemented in the future.
