Oracle vs. MySql for Stash?

Jefferson Ackor October 30, 2013

I work in a shop that uses Oracle, but having trouble justifying the cost for Oracle instances for Stash. Is MySQL adequate? Does anyone know of more detailed info then the currently available Atlassian docs about migrating Stash to an external DB? What's stored in the DB and what's kept on the file system, for example. Thanks!

Haven't found any additional details to support a decision one way or the other, but it looks like we have approval to go with Oracle.

MySQL is fine. Postgresql is probably better tested for Atlassian. Version 1.2 of Stash should support the migration to external database.

Thanks, Harry. I'm familiar with the Atlassian documentation and we're using Stash 2.8.2
