Plugin installation hangs on anything but a clean 4.3.2 with sample space

I got all kinds of installations here: unzipped 3.5.9, upgraded to 4.3.1, clean 4.3.1 install with our sample data hooked up to it...

Plugin installation hangs with the gear spinning on anything but a clean 4.3.2 with sample space.

I managed to install plugins in the sample install where I imported the single space.

Dunno exactly why it worked now. Can only guess it was a permissions problem, because that s the only thing I changed in the meantime. Logs didn t tell anything about the hanging plugin import.
