Sure it is possible. You can add a number type attribute to asset types (i.e Stock) to track inventories. And then you can automate it with asset post functions. For instance, when an asset is attached to an issue and issue is resolved, you can decrease the Stock value automatically.

You can track the price with the same method like Stock tracking, by adding number field with decimals to the asset types. And price attribute would be total price of inventories (for one asset) and another asset attribute would hold one inventory price (name it Per-Price).
Asset navigator lets you search numeric fields in range as well.
Soon, we'll introduce asset filters and subscriptions (just like Jira) to be notified for any saved asset search filter. For example you'll be able to define notifier for decreasing stock.
