Can you copy over the reporter when you Clone an issue?

Hello - I have created an automation rule to Clone an issue when a comment is added to a closed issue.

This is working, however I would like the Cloned issue to have the same reporter as the original issue.

I have tried adding a smart field to the reporter field when the issue is cloned, but this doesn't seem to work.

Is this possible?

Hi Laura,

This should work.  Can you try 

{{issue.reporter.name}}

By default it uses the user's key, which might not work if the user was renamed.

Also can you ensure that the reporter field is on the create screen in this project and issue type, and that the rule actor user (visible in rule details) has the right permissions to modify the reporter?

Bingo - that worked! Thank you so much - it was my fault, I had forgotten to put the field on the create screen!
