Do applied patterns change for different OSs? - Insight Discovery

Once connected to a machine, does Insight Discovery apply only the OS-relevant patterns, or does it try them all and only save the data from the ones that work?

The pattern are defined by the processing type for example:

if you are connected via SSH all SSHExecute pattern that are enabled will be executed.
