How to migrate the data made in WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira

TSNakamura December 10, 2020

Hi there.

We are currently considering migrating data from the cloud version of Jira to the cloud version of Jira.
WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira is installed in the pre-transition environment, and the data created with it will be migrated as well.

I have performed a data migration trial as a validation.
When I open WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira in the new environment, it opens the Gantt chart creation screen and I cannot view the WBS created before the migration.
Is there any way to migrate the WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira data?

Hello, @TSNakamura

Thank you for bringing this behavior to our attention and creating this Community Question.

According to our Development Team, WBS Gantt-Chart currently does not support migration between Server and Cloud environment, with significant differences in functionality between the Server and Cloud versions.

Data, such as start date, stored in custom fields in the Server version are not available in the Cloud version and must be re-entered in the Cloud version.

Please, access the Knowledge Bases down below for more information regarding migration and the functionalities between WBS Gantt-Chart Server and Cloud:

Hi @Gabriel Quadros

Thank you for your answer.
There seemed to be a misunderstanding on one point.
The data migration to be performed is not from the server version to the cloud version, but from the cloud version to the cloud version.

As an additional question, if I create a WBS in the post-migration environment with the same settings as in the pre-migration environment, will it be possible to restore the WBS?
I am aware that the WBS is created based on Jira's issues, so it seems to be possible.

Thanks kindly.

Hello, @TSNakamura

Thank you very much for the correction, and we are sorry for the misunderstanding.

In this case, the migration between Cloud x Cloud has the same limitations as the Server x Cloud one. All Data must be re-entered in the new Cloud instance.

As an additional question, if I create a WBS in the post-migration environment with the same settings as in the pre-migration environment, will it be possible to restore the WBS?
Unfortunately, this is not possible yet. This feature may be available in the future, but we do not have an ETA for it.
