Insight - Object Attribute on more than one objectType

carlosgarcia_edw November 2, 2018

Hi There,

Currently we have an objectType "Furniture" has a relation "Located in" where an objectType "Workplace" can be selected.

In addition to Workplace there should also be the possibility to select objects of the type "Room". See the following picture.

Rooms_and_Workplaces.png

Does anyone know if it is possible to add an Object Attribute on an Asset type to allow this "Two Object Type" selection?

Greetings.

Hello! You'll want to perform the following:

  1. Navigate to the "Furniture" object type.
  2. If it is not set up this way already, change the "Type Value" to select "Room" objects.
  3. Locate the configuration options for the attribute "Located in" and click on "Configure".
  4. On the "General tab", select option for "Include Children".
  5. I can't tell based on the image that you provided, but if you have more children under "Room" that you don't want to be selected, you'll need to filter the options further. If this is the case, remain underneath the configuration options, and navigate to the "Filter objects" tab. In the search box, type "objectType in ("Room", "Workplace"). This will filter to only allow selections from type "Room" or "Workplace".
  6. CLICK UPDATE

Hopefully, this helps!
