Hello!
We are currently in search of a task management solution for a project oriented company (500 employees, HW, system&network integration, engineering, information security). The purpose is to organize work of multiple departments and cross-departmental teams on commercial projects.
Jira Software fits the requirements almost perfectly in ALL critical points. Especially thanks to flexible access management, customization and automation. It's really great either for setting up a rigid process and for flexible fast task issuing (we need both options).
But a major drawback for us is that the system is not user-friendly for non-dev users. UI is filled with captions and links no business user could understand. And those are usually can not be hidden by settings. While other functions like filters with JQL although powerful could also be problematic for regular business users.
There is no need for software development features for us as all intended business-processes are purely operational and leaning on collaboration. But unfortunately Jira Core functionality is insufficient in several aspects.
So now we are trying to assess whether UI problems could be fixed by self-developed apps.
Could you help me with advice and opinions on some questions about the extent to which apps for Cloud Jira Software can modify UI?
I would really appreciate any information.
The system is awesome. It would be a great shame to drop it in favor of some least functional but user-friendly one...
@Alex TrebekIn general in Jira Cloud the UI is given "as is". Apps have very limited integration points into the UI. That is probably also the reason that you can't find apps for cloud in the marketplace which do this.
Hello Marc! Thank you for the response.
I've been researching the topic for a couple of weeks now and ended up with the same conclusions.
For history. As I understand none of the features from questions above are possible in Jira Cloud.
