Hello,
I am using Adaptavist ScriptRunner in JIRA Cloud. I have been reading a lot of materials and it seems we cannot use scripted fields in JQL or dashboards anymore. Is that correct? Does it mean the calculated field shows in the ticket and that is all, no way to use that information?
Thank you

That is correct. The way we've had to implement scripted fields means that they are not exposed to JQL or the dashboards. This is because they are not held inside Jira (like the server ones are), so there are no field headers for them to get hold of.
There is a way to fix this - instead of scripting a field, create a Jira field, don't put it on any "update" screens, and then script the editing of that. As the field will be inside Jira, your search and dashboards will be able to see it!
Hi Nic, thanks for the welcome and the reply!
Do you have any documentation on the workaround? I understand the creating a field and the screen but not the scripting of it.

I think https://library.adaptavist.com/entity/calculate-custom-field-on-issue-update is a good way to start.

Thank you! not sure if it will help as I am trying to calculate the age of a ticket and show that in dashboards and filters so the ticket might not have any triggers. I will definitely look at it. Thanks!
