Removing Epic Stories

Adam Finzel January 3, 2013

Hi,

On the plan view I have an epic card. I don't seem to be able to remove them. The docs say click the down arrow and there is an option in there but I don't have this option.

Thanks

Adam

There was a problem with our database. Raising a support issue got my problem addressed.

If you mean the Epic panel to the left, it displays all issues of type Epic visible as part of the filter that you used for the board. The drop down menu for the Epic does not have a Delete option. You need to open the Epic in JIRA and delete it. Which documentation are you referring to?

EDIT: Can you get us a screenshot?

Mark as done is not available if you do not have Edit permissions for the project the Epic is on.

Perhaps he is referring to the "Mark as Done" option. I am also experiencing a problem where the "Mark as Done" option does not show up. I know it has been asked about on Answers before, and I have not yet seen an answer.

Yeah that doesn't work

I have the Edit Issue permission on every project in our JIRA instance, and I still don't see the option.

Ah really? Then it's a bug. Are you able to Edit the same epic issue in JIRA directly? If yes, can you raise a support request at https://support.atlassian.com/

Waitl Closing an Epic has no effect on GH. GH uses a custom field 'Epic Status' which can be changed only if you have Edit Permission. That is why I asked you to try Editing the issue. Can you confirm that you are able to click the Edit button while viewing the Epic issue directly in JIRA?

Adam Finzel January 4, 2013
Yes, I can even close the epic but it is always stuck on the left.

I have full access I have every permission. I can edit the card. I'm an owner user. I can edit the card. I have raised a support issue to try and get this resolved.
