Require field on transition

Is it possible for the Automation for JIRA add-on to require a field value on a transition?

For example, I want to require that a Component is selected before an issue can be closed (Done transition).

Hi Laura,

No that is not something that Automation can do, or support unfortunately. We can restrict the transitions actions that Automation performs itself but there is no way we can restrict users from performing them.

I think what your after is transitions conditions, you can do this with Jira, I they have a page written about it here:
