Running import in Insight as specific user

Mikael Witt November 9, 2018

Hi,

I would like to be able to see when attributes has been updated or objects added in Insight based on automated imports. The way I think this should work is by running the imports as a specific user. This would then show up in the log on each object, for example "puppet_import_user".

Is this possible?

Best regards

/Micke

Hi Mikael.

      The solution you are suggesting will indeed give you the expected result;

Any Insight Import or Automation rule has to have a valid Jira User to be indicated as Actor.

This User will be the one showing on any Import or Automation resulting Action (Created Object, Object Updated etc.)

In the Import Configuration this is refered to as "Synchronizing Account" - The Jira user to use when synchronize data into Insight.

Please check our documentation for additional information.

Thanks, had this configured, but it seems that when I trigger the import manually, it runs as my user, probably by design:-).

Will wait for it to run on schedule and check the result.

Sorry, my mistake, will test the correct config now, this works as designed:-)!
