SPAM control on Atlassian Answers

Received 14 emails today with a comment posted on all the answers I was following due to a SPAM comment posted by ccmalls.

Kind of annoying. Anything being done about this?

Bhushan - did you know about instaban? If you go to to a user's profile and look at the drop-down, there's instaban there. It's only eligible for people with over 3,000 karma, which you have!

We're investigating a possible bug that it might not work - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/ANSWERS-1119. I'm about to go look into that.

Given the current problem with spam, could you folks please make instaban available to everyone, so that we can keep these forums useful?  I don't have much, if any karma, but am on the verge of being driven to withdraw completely.
