We are planning to use Crypt encryption plugin from company. When we review the company information, it shows they are Atlassian Platinum Solution Partner but this product is not "Atlassian Verified".
Is there a way to verify if they are really Atlassian Platinum Solution Partner and is so, if this product is secure to use?
Hi Robert,
we are a marketplace vendor, that is Atlassian verified - so happy to tell you a little bit about it about the program.
The Atlassian verified program is only open to marketplace vendors having more than 500 active installs of their plugins. Details here: https://developer.atlassian.com/platform/marketplace/atlassian-verified-program/
You also commit to things like timely support, upgrades etc.
The Plugin you mention from Translucent ApS, probably never had a chance to get Atlassian verified as the Vendor doesn't have enough installs.
Via the Atlassian Partner Search, you can confirm that they are indeed a Solution Partner listed with Atlassian:
https://www.atlassian.com/partners/search?name=translucent&page=1
However does that make the plugin secure? There is no independent verification for any of the plugins in the marketplace as standard. So I recommend in general to look at the Reviews, possibly get in touch with the vendor to ask them some questions. But then it's ultimately down to your own risk assment.
Cheers,
Christian
