Clicking the icon on the left navigation displays the gantt screen and the associated project name but there are no sub tasks and no carrot to expand the sub-tasks.

This may be due to the displaying mode of Global configuration. Please check ticket display mode at Feature setting(Managing add-on> Feature settings> Issue view> ticket display mode). Global issue view settings
If the current issue display mode is set to displaying specific issue type mode, you need to specify the issue types to be displayed.
