Wallboard breaking whenever Univeral Plugin Manager is Updated

Everytime we update the Universal Plugin Manager, Wallboard gives us a fail to initialize error. The only solution we've come up with is to uninstall and reinstall the plugin. Any idea why this is occuring?

Wallboard version 1.7.3
JIRA version 5.2.6
Universal Plugin Manager 2.12.2 (although it's broken for at least the 3 versions updated)

UPM version - every single UPM version released since we upgraded from 4.4 9 months ago.
