What Test Management tool - Zephyr, X-Ray, or TM4J is good?

sanjeev.m.dange November 17, 2020

We are trying to decide on selecting a tool. Does anyone have an analysis of these 3 tools?

I understand that I would need to conduct my own analysis, but if someone has done a similar exercise, and if they can share their experience, that would be of great help.

Hi Sanjeev,

My vote goes to QMetry Test Management for Jira and I am using it personally from the past couple of years.

Here is the Marketplace Link:

Thank you Brian. Do you have any document where you did any kind of analysis or comparison with other apps?

Thanks Brian for recommending us.

@sanjeev.m.dange ,

QMetry Test Management for Jira (QTM4J) is built to provide seamless one tool experience of test management inside Jira. At the same time, it offers an architecturally independent design for better usability, UI, speed and integration possibilities. One of the best features of QTM4J is that it is intuitive, powerful and lightweight test management tool.

We are proud to say that we were the first one to offer built-in free Exploratory Testing capability in the Atlassian Space.

One of the ways to understand apps on Atlassian Marketplace is from their reviews. You can check out QMetry's reviews here. Also, nowadays every team has different set of requirements and expectations from a Tool. Hence, the best way to know whether the app under review is the best fit for your team or not, is by starting the free trial.

Hi @sanjeev.m.dange

You can try AIO Tests for Jira also as part of your analysis.

We are one of the few test management tools (along with TM4J) that do not treat test entities like cases, executions, cycles, runs, etc. as Jira issues. This approach helps us provide a more seamless and intuitive way of test management.

The app is simple and straightforward to use and provides all the key functionalities of a test case management tool.

Key features of the app are listed below

  • easy creation and import/export of test cases
  • linking to Requirements (Jira stories)
  • bulk edit of cases and steps
  • 360o view of test cases
  • organizing in Folders and Sets
  • efficient execution with analytical view of multiple test executions
  • easy recording of run defects and artifacts
  • inbuilt traceability and execution reports
  • JUnit and TestNG integration
