I recevie the following error after saying 'Yes create the link...'Failed to create a reciprocal link in the remote application: com.atlassian.sal.api.net.ResponseException: Received 404 - Not Found'.
The entity link creation request checks that the application is also added in Jenkins. You get a 404 if the Jenkins server cannot find the application link to the JIRA server. Most likely you didn't create a reciprocation link for the application when adding the Jenkins server to JIRA.
If you still have the issue, then please create an issue on our JIRA instance with log file so I can have a look at it
i also have this error. i installed Jenkins by yum install.
I realizer that :
url of issues in Jenkins is https://jira.domain/browse/PROJECT-KEY/browse/PROJECT-KEY-[number]. But it must be https://jira.domain/browse/PROJECT-KEY-[number]
How do i fix this error

Is in tomcat, but not using subdir. The issue eventually went away for no obvious reason.

Interesting -- I also have this problem.
Do you run Jenkins in a tomcat instance, or in a sub-directory at all? (e.g.http://someserver.org/jenkins/)? I've had a few Jenkins plugins misbehave because they're dropping the '/jenkins/' url prefix.
I wonder if that's the root of the problem here?

I realize now that answering 'no' to creating the reciprocating link will allow me create the entity link, but what's needed on the remote side <jenkins plugin> to enable the remote link? Is that even supported? Is the only benefit of the entity link to generate posts in the activity stream?
