Using script post-function "Clones and issue and links" in jira 4.4.4. I've simply filled out the fields as required but the Contains links in my issue are not being copied/cloned to the new issue.
I've set Condition blank so it always evaluates to true, I've kept the Target Project the same as the current, set the Target Issue Type to what I want, and set the Issue Link Type to what I want (see screenshot below).
Any idea why my Contains links aren't being copied/cloned?
Are you saying it works but just doesn't copy the links? If so...
It doesn't copy links IIRC... most likely I will address this soon. If you add a bug to https://jamieechlin.atlassian.net/browse/GRV it would be helpful.
> If what you're saying is right, that this isn't part of the functionality, then why does it explicitly say it is?
I assume you're referring to "Clones an issue and links".
This should be read as "Clones an issue, and links". Meaning it clones the issue, and links it to the issue it was cloned from.

Yes, I'm saying that it works but doesn't copy links. If what you're saying is right, that this isn't part of the functionality, then why does it explicitly say it is?
There are some other plugins (e.g., LNIO) that do similar things, but they all seem to suffer from the same problem of not copying existing links. The only thing that works is actual cloning and the checkbox in the popup to copy the links. Unfortunately, the clone link type won't work for me since I want to clone, but want to use a different link type depending the different workflow transitions I'm in.
I'll add the bug, but am wondering if there is a workaround where you can use a groovy script to essentially trigger whatever functionality ticking the box in the clone popup triggers?

Ah, now I see how it could be read differently. Alas. I think if the ability to do this is in the original clone functionality, it is sorely needed in this script. I created a "bug" though I know it could be considered an improvement. Here's the reference: GRV-216 - "Clones an issue and links" script post function does not clone the source issue's links
Thanks!
