Hi,
Currently we are using zephyr for our test case management. Whenever a new release comes we just clone our current test cycle to a new release version. But the problem is if i make any change to the test in my current test cycle for current version, it will be changed in the all previous release version's as well.
Is there a way when i clone my all test cycle's to the new version of my application it should create a seperate copy of the test case and if a modify these test cases it should not affect the previous version's test cases.
Thanks,
Girish Grover
Hi Girish,
Currently there are three work arounds to the issue you have reported.
1) You can individually clone the testcases and add them to a new cycle.
You can clone a testcase by going to the opening that particular testcase and pushing the "Clone" button.
2) If you have a lot of testcases, step 1 won't be a good work around. If that is the case you can export those testcases and then import them to ZFJ. Once this is accomplish, you can add those testcases to the cycle.
You can download our ZFJ importer utility from the following link:
https://bitbucket.org/zfjdeveloper/zfj-importer/downloads
3) You can use the structure plugin which can bulk clone the Zephyr testcases and test steps.
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.almworks.jira.structure
Note: Not all bulk clone plugins include our teststeps during the cloning process.
Kind Regards,
Edgar
