how to perform program planning when there are no epics in the project?

I have a few questions:

1.In our project,we rarely use epics and largely work on stories. Is there a way we can do program planning on stories?

2. We estimate stories using story points and sub tasks using hours. How to work with story points when I plan a sprint on the team timeline?

3. I believe iterations created from tempo cannot be mapped to JIRA board. Is there a way I could disable the "New Iteration" button on the tempo board which allows me to only map the sprints from JIRA board.

4. When I try to plan an item from the timeline,I can see options for sprint in the "Plan Item" dropdown but I do not see any options for issue,project etc.

5.When I assign a story with a story point or hourly estimate on the timeline,the story is allocated in multiples of 8 or depending on the allocation.If the estimate is 3 hours,how do I get it to be planned only for 3 hours on the timeline.

Tempo Planner is in many ways based on epics and especially the program overview only makes sense if you use epics in your projects. Epics are used as milestones and sum up the logged and remaining hours on the linked issues.

When you plan an item in the timeline you will get a result in the dropdown field as soon as write some search text. Tempo Planner is perfect by doing planning from JIRA sprints.

Planning issues/items in the timeline will always plan the 8 hours for each team member. If you want to avoid this functionality you should rather use the backlog/ iteration planning.
