Hello together,
I hope you can help me with this issue, I guess it's only a small thing that I miss, but I can't find the solution for this.
We try to use the following JQL that is mentioned in the Xray documentation:
issuetype = 'Test' and "Manual Test Steps" ~ "Login with user administrator"
Source: Enhanced querying with JQL - Xray Server + DC - Xray (getxray.app)
But we always receive the same error message:
Field 'Manual Test Steps' does not exist or you do not have permission to view it.
My account is project administrator and has every permission that should be needed for this. I also can see the test steps in the issue view screen as well as in the issue search view, when I add the "Manual Test Steps" as a column.
Does someone have an idea what we are missing here?
Thanks a lot in advance, looking forward for your help :)
Edit: We use Xray for Jira Server.
Hi @AUVESY IT
It is supposed to work like that, do you have Xray enabled in your project?
Does the custom field belong to the Field Configuration found in the Project Settings?
If all of these are ok, please contact the Xray Support (http://xraysupport.xpand-it.com ) to analyze this further.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Rogério Paiva [Xray Support Team]
Hi Rogério,
Yes, Xray can be used without any other issue in the project and the custom field is part of the Field Configuration of the Project.
I already contacted the Xray Support Team and it seems that currently we (4.1.5) don't have the needed version (>4.2.0) installed.
We will do an update of Xray in the next days, I will keep you up to date whether our "problem" is fixed then :)
Thank you for your help!
Best regards,
Bernhard

Hi,
As you know Xray exists for the Cloud (https://docs.getxray.app/display/XRAYCLOUD/Enhanced+querying+with+JQL#EnhancedqueryingwithJQL-CustomFields) and for Server/DC (https://docs.getxray.app/display/XRAY/Enhanced+querying+with+JQL#EnhancedqueryingwithJQL-CustomFields) and due to limitations in each the availability of some methods/arguments is not the same.
Please check if you are using the Cloud or Server version and use the documentation accordingly.
