setting up test version of 5.2.9 with MS SQL database

Followed the instructions

but recieving Error connecting to database Cannot open database "sqltest" requested by the login. The login failed.

using the installation wizard

Sounds like you haven't set up the database correctly, or you've used the wrong details to connect to it.

Where is the documentation you have followed, and could you tell us what you've done differently to what it says?

Ok, then the error message is telling you that access to the server is being blocked by something. As you've followed the instructions, then the database and application server are not at fault.

The application log should contain more information - could you have a look at that?
