Refresh Comments in Client Browser When Issue Updated

Kevin Beattie August 29, 2017

Hi,

Is there a way to refresh the comments of an issue that is currently open in the clients browser, without reloading the entire page?  Or at the very least, throw a dialog into the UI to let the agent or engineer know that the issue has been updated (Confluence does something similar already)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Kevin,

So in JIRA Server we haven't had a chance yet to implement this: https://codebarrel.atlassian.net/browse/AUT-226

The other thing you can do in JIRA Server is to make the trigger synchronous (that is the actions of the rule execute immediately and the results will show right away).  This only works for event based triggers (not scheduled rules).

To do so expand 'More options' in your trigger (e.g. 'Issue updated') and check 'Execute this rule immediately when the rule is triggered, instead of in the background'.

Hope this  helps.

Cheers,

  Andreas
