Remove Version During Transition?

We have a transition and status called "Deferred". We would like to update/clear the Version (fixedversion) of the issue upon transitioning to the Deferred status. We were thinking we could do this via a post function, but I do not see a way to easily do this - post function or not. Any advice or help is appreciated!

I was just reviewing my post functions, and I see "Clear Field Value." I don't know if this post-function came stock or came from one of our plugins. If it's available, you can clear it with this guy.
