Report on all versions released daily

I have a simple requirement that seems very difficult to realise. I just need a report of all versions released by day. Which I'd like to be able to view in a graph, with a controllable time period.  We measure releases per day as part of our technical KPIs.  I've tried using the Smart-QL plugin and there is an abstract table for releases, which I'm sure would work except the releasedate column that is in the underlying database table is not available in the abstract table.  Does anyone know a way to create this report.  I know it's possible per project, but I need an aggregate view across multiple/all projects in my JIRA instance.
