Scriptrunner: Custom message for "Require commits to be associated with a JIRA issue" merge check

Hi, 

I'm testing out the "Require commits to be associated with a JIRA issue" merge check to only allow the pull request to be merged if the jira ticket is in the correct status.  My issue is it seems very confusing to the user when the ticket is not in the right status.  Is there a way to customize the error message that shows from the hover context or even better just display a custom message on the page?
