Using a groovy script to update child objects

In our insight we have objects grouped into systems and sub-systems, and I am looking for a way to update the location (custom text field) of all items within a sub-system when it gets updated on the parent sub-system object.

So far I have used an IQLFacade search to return an array of all the child objectBean's but I haven't been able to find a way to access the custom fields to update them, can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
