I have issues in 2 Jira projects that I would like displayed in the same Gantt chart hierarchy.
For some issues the parent issue is in 1 project and the children in the other project, for other issues both the parent and child issues are in the same project. The parent-child link is always defined using the 'contains' link which works correctly for issues where the parent and child are in the same project but not when they are in different projects.
The first screenshot shows the issue hierarchy correctly (a Requirement 'contains' 1 or more Storys) - all issues in the same project (P1936WMSE):
The 2nd screenshot is not showing the hierarchy correctly, a Feature (green icon, white cross) 'contains' 1 or more Tasks (blue icon, white tick) but the relationship between issues is not represented correctly because the issues are in different projects (P1936WMS and P1936WMSE):
Hello John 👋🏻
Thank you for posting - Raphael from WBS Gantt-Chart support team here.
Currently, our app doesn't support displaying different projects in a Gantt without grouping them by projects with their respective hierarchies, it's a default feature from our app.
Last but not least, is already mapped in our backlog the feature you mentioned by creating parent-child issue linking across Jira projects for further app versions.
This should clarify your concerns, John. However don't hesitate to share with us your comments or questions on the matter, we'll be happy to help!
If you feel more comfortable, you can reach out to us through our ticket portal and share other questions as well 😄

thanks for the clear response Raphael, its disappointing that the functionality is not available but good to see that its on your backlog. It would be really useful functionality at Dematic as we rely on the ability to group by filter rather than project in all the other Jira plugins that we use as well as in core Jira.
Is it possible to watch the WBS backlog feature rather than the App?

Hi John,
We're pleased to help you, whenever you need 🙌🏻
Our board isn't public regarding WBS backlog, so we encourage you to keep watching the app instead.
Also, if you want to report feedback or a feature request, you can reach out to us at Ricksoft Support webpage and send your thoughts, feel more than welcome!
That said, I hope we clarify things for you, John. If you have any comments or questions, please go ahead and share them with us.
