Usually plugins should work fine if the upgrade is only a minor release, hence you might want to try using the upload method to install your plugin. If its still failed, there might be another cause of your issue. Please try the following steps and see if it helps
- Shutdown Confluence instance
- Remove the following directories
- <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins
- <confluence-home>/plugin-cache
- <confluence-home>/plugins-osgi-cache
- <confluence-home>/plugins-temp
- <confluence-home>/bundled-plugins_language
- Restart Confluence
The above steps will confirm that the cause of your issue is not due to corrupted plugin-cache. Hope it helps.
