Why isn't the reviewer approval removed after a new commit pulled?

In the setting of a Repo under Pull Requests -> General; the option for "Unapprove autmatically on new changes" is check.  A new commit pull was made, but the original approvers remain intact. Why is this the case?

Did you end up figuring out why this happened?  we are seeing this happen as well on some repos with plugin v3.0 and bitbucket server 5.9.1
