Workload Pie Chart Gadget doesn't offer option to choose worklog responsible

Hi JIRA Charting team,

We're using workload pie chart gadget on our JIRA dashboard, but, unlike timesheet gadget, which enables views for worklog responsible (in time spent views), the workload pie chart gadget only exposes issue assignee and issue reporter options.

In our case, the issue assignee (or reporter), not necessarily, is the unique responsible for the worklogs.

i.e. Issue (Task One) Assignee: Joe

worklog reporters:

- John - 1h (one hour)

- Isaac - 3h (three hours)

- Jack - 4h (four hours)

- Joe, whos the issue assignee - 5h (five hours)

Workload Pie Chart Results:

- a GRAPH SLICE pointing exclusively to Joe, totaling 13 hours. (wrong result in our opinion)

What we expect:

- 4 GRAPH SLICES, as follows:

- John - 1h (one hour)

- Isaac - 3h (three hours)

- Jack - 4h (four hours)

- Joe - 5h (five hours)

That limitation causes a distortion in our analysis. If there is a GAP, I recommend that you guys expose this new kind of option for queries. It means: Assignee (that already exists), Reporter (that also already exists) AND worklog reporter (new option).

Thanks for the answer. Below I did some considerations just to explain our need.

I didn't say that Workload Chart was not working. Actually, I made a recommendation to just expose a NEW OPTION to this kind of need, since it's natural (or seems to be) that time spent could be queried by those whom , in fact, spent hours working on the activities.

The option assignee, as you said, is working. That's not the problem for us. The fact is, we really need to demonstrate the contribution of our team in a pie chart object. Because of that, the option assignee is not "confused", but inadequate...

I also contact timesheet team about our need and, unfortunately, they (still) don't have Pie Chart Gadgets in their solution (ADD-ON), only PIVOT TABLES. So, for now, it's not an option for us, since

An option, mentioned by Andriy (timesheet team member) is to use TEMPO ADD-ON, since they DO have exactly what we need, but, we will need to buy a new ADD-ON, and, of course, spend more money, just for a workload pie chart. It's not seem to be reasonable for us.

So, please inform if this kind of improvment could make part of your BACKLOG. In negative case, I will make a request for timesheet team or, lastly, purchase the TEMPO ADD-ON.

Hi Michel,

The chart is actually is working as expected as the Workload Chart is returning the total timespent on the issue assigned to Joe.

This chart might be a little bit confusing if you use it for Assignee statistic. A simple example on using the Workload Pie Chart; it can be use to shows how many hours spent for each Component in that project so that you would be able to know which components that use most of the resource currently.

If you would like to see the Time Spent by each assignee for all issues in the project or return by the filter, you may use the timesheet plugin instead.
