synapseRT migration from 7.x to Next Gen loses Test Case results

We've been investigating upgrading to synapseRT NextGen (we're back on the 7.x releases), but a blocking issue for us is that the migration seems to discard the results stored on Test Case items.

• Test Case State (the synapseRT custom field)
• and the State saved on each individual Test Case Step

Since the migration appears to leave this data behind, we've been looking into how to archive or export the data from our system before migrating, but the built-in JIRA export doesn't work for the State of each Test Case Step.

Did anyone else face this problem during migration and come up with a way to migrate or save the data from 7.x?
