The next phase of the rollout is here: We're bringing the new navigation experience to users on the Standard plan. If you haven’t opted in yet, your teams will soon benefit from a more streamlined, consistent way to navigate across Jira, Confluence, and Atlassian Home.

Note: The new navigation will be enabled automatically for you if the Standard plan is your site’s highest subscription.

What to expect?

Starting May 19, 2025 (5:45 p.m. PDT), we’ll begin rolling out the new navigation to all users whose site’s highest subscription is the Standard plan.

warning While the rollout begins immediately, it may take up to 3-4 days to reach all sites. We appreciate your patience during this period.

The new navigation is available on Jira, Jira Service Management, Jira Product Discovery, Confluence, and Atlassian Home. Here's what you can expect:

Frequently asked questions

Question

Response

How do I know if these changes apply to me?

Org admins can check this for their organizations

  1. Go to admin.atlassian.com.

  2. Select your organization.

  3. Go to Apps and check the highest plan for your organization.

If the Standard plan is your highest subscription, these changes apply to your site.

For Premium and Enterprise users of Confluence, is there a way to turn off the new navigation?

For Confluence sites on the Premium or Enterprise plan, once the new navigation is enabled, only admins can turn it off. Users can’t turn off the new navigation for themselves.

What’s next?

We’ll continue rolling out the new navigation in phases to ensure a smooth transition for all users. In the meantime, check out our navigation resources to support you and navigate the new experience.

I love that y'all are getting out there - much appreciated! I am not sure I'll be able to attend but I would really appreciatesome more information on the following:

- While Atlassian community and JAC have articulated a pretty long backlog of feature requests, "move to a new UI" doesn't seem to get a mention. Can you talk a little about how Atlassian chooses what features to invest in, and what drives those decisions?

- I know (and love that) Atlassian ran a protracted feedback campaign for the new UI, however a lot of that feedback seems to have gone unaddressed. Can you talk a little about the feedback you received during the beta periods and how you used it to inform future decisions?

- Pulling back a for a minute generally on the topic of "feedback" - can you talk a little about how Atlassian collects and decisions on the information you receive from users?

- Change and release management has been an area of improvement for Atlassian for over a decade, but there were and continue to be major problems with how this new interface was rolled out. Can you talk a little about what Atlassian is doing to course-correct here and what systemic changes might be coming to resolve the problem overall?
