Please give us the option of the old navigation. The new navigation has put a huge dent in efficiency, ability to move board to board, and not to mention user dissatisfaction. Please reconsider this unfortunate change.
Hi Daniel,
I am using the new navigation for a few months now and I am quite used to it. 😎
Some tips:
⭐ Use the "for you" starred items or boards tabs to easily find your starred boards, dashboards and filters.
🔍 The general search is key in finding not only work items and projects, but also boards, filters, dashboards and even items in Confluence and other Atlassian tools.
Good luck with finding your way! 🤞
Best regards, Ward.
The "Starred" view is a bad joke. Everything mixed in together, unsorted (at least not sorted in a way I can figure out), and if you filter by type, that resets right away when you open it again.
And to "search is key":
So, instead of clicking on "Dashboard" or "Filters" and select one,
you propose going in to search, typing the name, hope it's unique enough to identify (or rename everything), find it mixed in with the other types?
How is that more efficient or better UI design?
"Good luck with finding your way!" is the only thing I can confirm: You'll need some luck to find things...
I have no words, It looks like ServiceNow Virtual Task Boards may be a way to go.
I guess I'm not having a problem with Jira, because I never did much navigating within the product app before. I just use the links I already had saved in my browser favorites for each board/view I use. The pages look pretty much the same for me to do the things I always did (filter, search, add comments, create a new work item), so I am not so unhappy. I haven't heard any feedback from our other Jira users.
My main app is Confluence, but I really just use 1 space to document our app. I just hid things I never need to see at the top of the sidebar and scroll down the sidebar to Content, and it all is the same as it ever was. Of course, my Confluence has moved to the new navigation, but not the new UI yet, so I'm sure I will be more affected when that happens.
Agreed with this post.
Feedback from our users has been overwhelmingly negative on the new navigation - people are more confused and it is harder for them to find their projects and work.
Unfortunate also because our management was already considering moving away from Jira and this appears to be a nail in the coffin.
