I copy below a snapshot of what I see when I create a new Issue.
Two questions, when I create the Issue, the Summary input field is what shows at the top of the Issue (here called "Some action to be assigned"). There is another field toward the bottom of the snapshot, called Description. I have not been able to figure out where / how that can be updated or filled out.
Second question is on the field Priority. The only way I have found to update that is if I view the Issue in WBS Gant Chart format. Should there be another way to update that field without going to the WBS view?
Thanks in Advance,
Avi Feldblum

@Joseph Chung Yin Thanks. When I hover over None, nothing happens and I am not able to edit. I am not the overall Jira Administrator, but I have some level of permissions on my project. If you have any directions on what I would need to do to associate the Description field with my projects configuration scheme, I can try and see if I can do it, or at least have more information to give my Jita Administrator, so he can make the needed changes.
Thanks!
Avi
Hi Avi:
To verify the project configuration setup (i.e. Screen Configuration), you will need to access "Project settings>> Issues >> Screens UI. From there you can verify if the "Description" field is included in the screen that supports EDIT Issue or not.
Another thing you may want to take a look is to see if the issuekey in question is not already CLOSED. By default, when an issue is at the terminal status (i.e. CLOSED/DONE), issue editing is disabled.
Hope this helps.
Best, Joseph
@Joseph Chung Yin Thanks, I do not see that set of information when I go to the Project Settings, but I now went to a different Project that was set up by a different Administrator and for Issues on this Project I can edit the Description Field and the Priority. So it is something that is associated with the Project Set-up. I'll try and contact the Adminstrator with some of this information, and see if he can figure out what the changes are that need to be made,
