Based on what I could see from last year's agenda, it looks like the first day is dedicated exclusively to training. Do you think that will happen again this year? If we aren't doing the training, would it make more sense to fly in on Oct. 1st and then attend the sessions on the 2nd and 3rd?

I don't think that anything is set in stone yet, but I would suggest emailing events@atlassian.com to see if you can't get any information a bit early.
