I’m sitting at the airport in LAX, my carry-on a little heavier from too much swag and my heart fuller than I expected after just a few days. I'm slightly sunburned (thanks, California), already jetlagged, and absolutely buzzing with everything that just went down at Atlassian Team ’25.
Was it exhausting? Totally.
Was it amazing? You bet.
Was it chaotic?
Well.
We don’t like boring, do we?
So here's my personal recap—part therapy, part love letter, part “Dear future me, remember this!”
On Wednesday, April 2nd, I arrived in Los Angeles with my dear friends Laura Niedermeyer, Partner Manager at Seibert Group, and @Andreas Springer, Community Champion from Stuttgart. We treated ourselves to an Airbnb and set out to explore the city.

As it was my first time in the U.S., I was both excited and cautious. Our initial encounter was... memorable.
While searching for sparkling water (my German stomach needs it!) near our accommodation, we encountered a man on the street without pants, engaged in some rather personal activities.
A shocking introduction to LA, to say the least.
Despite that, we had wonderful days exploring everything from the glitz of the Hollywood Walk of Fame to the authentic vibes of Downtown LA and the natural beauty of Griffith Park. A highlight was our visit to Venice Beach and the Santa Monica Pier, guided by the lovely Katie Lai (Seibert Solutions).
Of course, we couldn't escape without getting a bit of a sunburn—it comes with the territory!
On Sunday, I moved to Anaheim to join my Aura Apps team in another Airbnb. It was a pleasure to finally meet our new Head of Marketing, Yvonne Sims, in person.
That evening, I attended the K15t Hocketse, a rooftop gathering where we enjoyed the Disneyland fireworks and reconnected with friends from Barcelona.
The sense of community and appreciation was truly heartwarming.
Monday was dedicated to the Community Champion Workshops (Yes, Leaders are now called Champions). We received some fantastic swag, including a cozy hoodie and a stylish bag. In the afternoon, we headed to Disneyland.
After some snacks and drinks, we strolled through the park and waited for the highlight of the evening: the light show.

Tuesday marked the official start of Atlassian Team ‘25.
The opening keynote was inspiring, setting the tone for the announcement of the days ahead. Here’s what you don’t want to miss:
The whole room went crazy when Mike Cannon Brookes announced it: Rovo, Atlassian’s AI teammate, is no longer a VIP-only feature. It’s now included in the paid plans of Jira, Confluence, and more. That means it’s there to help your team too—no matter the size or department.
Read more in Atlassian’s official announcement.
Next up: The Teamwork Collection. Atlassian has bundled Jira, Confluence, Loom, and Rovo into one streamlined offering. It’s designed for all teams — not just devs — with a major focus on delightful, modern UX and smooth collaboration across departments.
And yes, this includes all the shiny new AI agents. One platform to rule them all.
For the leaders in the room (and those aspiring to be), Atlassian announced the Strategy Collection, now generally available. It brings together Focus, Align, and the soon-to-arrive Talent app — offering visibility into goals, teams, and investments, all aligned to your company’s strategic priorities.
The announcements from Atlassian were the number one topic of conversation throughout the week. But another highlight was definitely the Confluence Challenge at our booth. Each day, attendees had the chance to test their knowledge of Confluence and win a daily prize. The excitement built up all week, and on the final day, an Aura Apps customer took home the grand prize: a Meta Quest 3!
It was truly heartwarming to see so many smiling faces stop by—whether to compete, connect, or just chat.
Thursday marked the final day of the conference.
I took the opportunity to collect some extra swag for the best security guard ever!
If you're reading this, you're the best!
And of course, the legendary Bash party brought everything to a close in true Atlassian style: music, lights, laughter, and dancing. As always, it ended far too soon.
I'm already counting down the days to Team Tour: Europe in Barcelona.
Because I’ve been through it and want to help you prep better for your own adventure, here’s my ultimate list of must-haves and must-dos:
🧴 Bring sunscreen: Seriously. The California sun doesn’t play (Barcelona sun neither)
🥿 Pack comfortable shoes: You’ll be walking a LOT—through airports, expos, Disneyland, and maybe even rooftop parties.
🧥 Bring a hoodie or layers: Even if it’s hot outside, the expo halls can be ice cold. Your future self will thank you.
🎒 Dress for fun and function: You want to look good and feel good, whether you’re pitching at a booth or dancing at Bash.
🪩 Go to the Bash Party: Don’t skip it. Don’t overthink your outfit. Life is short. Have fun. Be spontaneous. Dance like nobody’s watching.
🧼 Hand cream, toothpaste, and wound spray: Glamorous? No. Useful? Absolutely. Your skin, your teeth, and your accidental blisters will appreciate it.
🌮 Eat something: Conference days are hectic and meals are often skipped. Pair lunch with networking—it’s a win-win.
💧 Stay hydrated: I carried my water bottle everywhere. You should too.
🌅 Arrive early: Time zone adjustment and some local sightseeing.
To everyone who stopped by, shared a laugh, or just exchanged a knowing nod—thank you.
See you in sunny Barcelona!
