The Evolution of IT Operations: Opsgenie’s Transition into Atlassian

Atlassian has announced a major update for Opsgenie users. Opsgenie’s capabilities are now fully integrated into Atlassian’s platform, enhancing incident management and alerting for IT and DevOps teams.

What’s Changing?

Opsgenie’s features will now be embedded into Jira Service Management and Compass, providing:

  • AI-powered incident management for ITSM teams in Jira Service Management.
  • Advanced alerting and on-call management for DevOps teams in Compass.
  • AIOps capabilities, including AI-driven alert grouping and automated resolutions.

Key Dates for Opsgenie Customers

  • June 4, 2025 – End of sale: No new purchases or upgrades after this date.
  • April 5, 2027 – End of support: Opsgenie will be retired, and data will no longer be accessible.

What You Need to Do

  • For ITSM teams → Move to Jira Service Management for a full incident management solution.
  • For DevOps teams → Transition to Compass for alerting and on-call management.

Atlassian is providing personalized migration recommendations and a guided migration tool to support customers through the transition.

Does "End of sale: No new purchases or upgrades after this date." mean: also no more extra licenses in an existing tenant?

Hi @Tom De Blende

Yes, after the End of Sale on June 4, 2025, no new purchases or upgrades will be possible. This includes signing up for new subscriptions and upgrading or downgrading plans.

However, existing Opsgenie customers will still be able to add extra licenses (seats) within their current tenant until the End of Support on April 5, 2027.
