Hi Community,
Thank you for taking the time to attend our Opsgenie Migration Office Hours on July 1!
We look forward to continuing to work with you to ensure a smooth transition from Opsgenie.
Recap & follow up questions:
To kick off the session, we ran through a demo of migrating Opsgenie into JSM and highlighted some of they key changes.
We received a handful of questions in the Q&A portion:
Question about the Slack integration functionality with JSM
The new JSM Slack bot has all the same functionality that Opsgenie had, plus options to ping the channel when the on-call user changes and an option to set up an alias to ping an on-call user directly from Slack.
How do we use the ‘Replace with’ function in a schedule?
When looking at the team, edit the schedule > edit the rotation > click on one of the users and you’ll see the option to replace then with another user.
Do we need to submit a runbook for the migration similar to migrating from Data Center to Cloud?
Nope! The migration tool within Opsgenie handles the entire migration for you. There are some edge cases where support may need to make adjustments before the migration can be run, but reach out if you have any questions!
Can you automatically create a Zoom meeting for incidents in JSM?
Right now, you can do this using Automation and the Zoom API. We have an open feature request to add this functionality.
Best regards,
Brennan, Chris, & Justin
