I am trying to install SourceTree and every time I do it, this error pops up on screen. I have tried both with and without admin permissions.
I have tried this with many different SourceTree versions from the download archive, the same error ocurrs with all of them.
As additional information, I will say that SourceTree has been installed before on this device before (and it used to work like a charm), but after uninstalling SourceTree and reinstalling it again, this error now appears.
All 'SourceTree' and 'Atlassian' folders were deleted in 'AppData/Local' and 'AppData/Roaming' at the time of opening the .EXE file.
I have been stuck with this error for many days now and I can't seem to find a solution. So I really need help to fix this.
Thanks!
Deleted my coment as I didn't reply properly, just ignore this coment LOL
Hi @Joseph
Welcome to Atlassian Community.
Please try to restart your machine and try?
or check in logs like below if it displays any information.
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree\sourcetree.log
please paste here.
delete all the folders from \AppData\Local---Atlassian
check if any folder with name SourceTree and SourceTress settings folder -- if found delete and try.

Hey! Thanks for the answer.
I have had this problem for many days now so my PC has been turned off and restarted many times since the issue started.
And as I mentioned, all 'SourceTree' and 'Atlassian' folders were deleted in 'AppData/Local' and 'AppData/Roaming' at the time of opening the .EXE file.
And after opening the EXE multiple times and getting the same popup error, I can confirm that no 'SourceTree' or 'Atlassian' folders have been created. That means I cant provide any logs :(
What should I do next?

Hi @Joseph
Its strange,
Did you verified the same installer able to install on other machine.
Last option you can do is, format the machine and install(if it is feasible), as you have tried all other options.

I haven't tried it on another machine and I bet it works fine, it's probably gotta be something on my machine, but I don't know what.
I did manage to install SourceTree by using the enterprise installer with this link.
https://www.sourcetreeapp.com/enterprise
It's weird how the enterprise SourceTree installer doesn't show the "Installation has failed" error and the installation works, but the default SourceTree installer always fails.
But even with the enterprise version installed, I now have a new issue D:
Now SourceTree crashes when I open the exe, I get to see the small blue "SourceTree" window for about have a second and it crashes.
Once again, I don't know how to fix it :s

Hi @Joseph
Now try to check the logs are created or not and did you get any information from the logs, as you were able to install sourcetree.
Check does your java is installed properly (path is set properly) and is it compatible with sourcetree.

I am pretty sure I have the JDK propperly configured, I'll upload 2 screenshots, one with the folder that has the JDK and the other of the path variables. The JDK was downloaded just a few days ago, so it's fully updated.
The problem is that no logs are being created when I open the SourceTree exe, the 'SourceTree' and 'Atlassian' folders in AppDatas 'Local' and 'Roaming' don't even exist

Hi @Joseph
Actually Android SDK comes with sourcetree,
If possible,
can you try uninstalling android and install SourceTree alone.
or
you can try with installing OpenJDK and then SourceTree.

Hey!
I have tried both of your suggestions and they didn't work :(
I also tried creating a new user and opening sourcetree from there, but it still didn't work.
It's so weird, SourceTree just crashes half a second after I open the app.
