Problem authenticating to BitBucket

Marco Cassanelli April 8, 2025

We have a colleague who has recently changed his domain password, he is able to login BitBucket through browser, but when tries to login BitBucket via Sourcetree he gets an authentication error.

We already tried to delete content in C:\Users\ USERNAME\AppData\Local\Atlassian and C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Atlassian, reinstalled Sourcetree, but still the problem persists.

This procedure worked fine in other similar cases, but not this time...

The OS: Win11

Sourcetree version: 3.4.23

SourceTree may have saved the credentials in the "Windows Credential Manager".

From the Windows start menu type "credential manager" to run the applet. Click on "Windows Credentials" at the top.

Now scroll through the list and look for any bitbucket.org entries and delete them.
