Hi Team,
I work for Unilever and would like to have your input related to Sourcetree issue.
We have installed BitBucket server on Linux machine as part of proof of concept and are able to do push/pull/commit from Linux machine through Git client.
However when we tried to access the repository through Sourcetree client from the Virtual machine (through Microsoft RD Web Access), the client is not responding and keep getting hung. I need support teams input on following points:
Hello! So there's a lot of layers here, but first let's answer your questions:
1. Sourcetree does run on a VM, but will run slower as it has to deal with running in a VM, and over RDP at the same time
2. It really depends on the repository. If it has a lot of history (the .git folder is > 1GB) then it will be naturally slower on the command-line and in Sourcetree. You can gather more detailed statistics by running a Repository Benchmark (open Sourcetree -> Repository -> Benchmark Repository Performance, and upload the JSON file). Additionally, you can open "Tool -> Process Viewer..." and find which operation is taking the longest to run.
3. We don't have a standard VM server size requirement for Sourcetree, but I'd recommend no less than 4GB of RAM and at least a dual-core CPU.

Hi Mike,
Can you comment on the windows servers that are compatible with sourcetree.
What basic version of windows server supports SourceTree. Is windows 8 server compatible ?
