In sourcetree, in the left bookmark column. When there has been changes to a local repo, the green check mark icon turns into the yellow icon indicating there has been changes. Is there any indication when a remote branch has been changed or a way to check if the remote branch has been changed?
You can use the 'Fetch' button to download the latest commits for remote branches, and then you can see those commits in the log. Also if any of your local branches are tracking these remotes you will see indicators against your local branch in the log and in the sidebar, showing you how many commits you are behind.
FYI the Mac version has an option to automatically fetch every 10 minutes, but this isn't implemented in Windows yet, so you have to use the Fetch button.
