Hi.
When i try to install the SourceTree software with my atlassian account that has been activated , the installation process fails.
After third step of installation process , log on into your atlassian account and use and existing account.
I fill all the fields required , user and password and the following message is shown :
"Something went wrong while attempting to validate your credentials."
I have tried to reset my acoount passwod with the same result.
I can log in into atlassian site with my credentials with no problems.
I have searched for a application log file at my computer and there is one at
folder [userWindows\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree] \sourcetree.log
who has this error message :
ERROR [2018-02-01 08:45:13,474] [1] [SourceTree.App] [.ctor] - finish EnsureSquirrelExecutionStubIsCopied
I have tried several versions of SourceTree with the same issue.
Thanks.
Successfully resolved this issue on Windows Server 2012 R2.
I hope this helps someone else!
Thank you!!

Hi Ricardo! Thanks for providing that error message. You can find the solution in this other Community thread, it's the answer proposed by Mike Corsaro:
Please navigate to the config file location (C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\Atlassian\SourceTree.exe_{RANDOM_GUID}\2.3.1.0\user.config) and find the following line:
<setting name="AutomaticallyCleanUpDictionaryFiles" serializeAs="String">
<value>True</value>
</setting>
Make sure that value is set to True
Let us know if it worked for you!
Best regards,
Ana

Ana, I have the same issue. I have looked and looked for a solution.
Will Atlassian come out with an installation that works?
There does to seem to be a solution.

@Ana Retamal I've got 3 new developers starting on 5/29 and a fourth on 6/11. We are licensed users of many atlassian tools. It would be nice if they were able to use SourceTree to connect to our repos.
Is a solution in the works for this?
