SourceTree is not able to commit many files

I want to push my `node_modues` directory from angular app to GIT, but when i add t staged it crashes. why??

-> Please no anwser like "you don't have to add the node_mudules folder to GIT" !!

It's not an node_modules-Question, it's a generel question why SourceTree has that problem with many files
